An email from EVO got past the spam filter this morning. I don't usually have a spam filter for EVO but this one needed it! As most manufacturers continue to hunt niches within niches Porsche get the prize for finding the first for 2021. I present the Pork Taycan (Electric) Turismo (Estate) Cross (Crossover) Turbo (not got any) S (but they are turned up higher) https://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/porsc...revealed-750bhp-turbo-s-to-top-crossoverA low slug off road not SUV with more Duracells than any iPad could every need and apparently less ground clearance than an S4. Just to make it extra silly I quote a comment from the article "As well as the new estate body, the Cross Turismo also features new lower bumper sections" which seem to stick out more." So when will we have the Electric Defender SVR to go up against it in their natural habitat, Chelsea? Or will it be an Electric Velar SVR. You could not even fit our neighbours cat under that never mind go off road? They are treating us as mugs again. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/03/05/TaycanCT.jpg) Not meant in anger, I am just laughing at them for making the most marketing based fake model I have seen in ages. Until JLR release the Defender Nurburgring of course. Of all the models to release? Leccy Macan? (same platform as the Audi I guess?) or even Cayenne I would get given the parts bin game but this is just odd. I guess they must have the stats that show it is worth making. Yet there is not one in the ICE range Turismo yes but Cross no? I am obviously well out of touch/not their target audiance, even if I did try and rob a test drive in the base one to understand what the fuss was about.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Personally, I love this offering and it seems there is a market for it. My OPC at least is taking orders for 2022 as the order bank for this year is full! Same holds true for most of their product line so clearly they are doing something correctly. At first I wasn't a massive fan, of any electric to be fair, but drove the Taycan. Blew me away on all levels - comfort, speed, handling, interior quality etc. It's no wonder they can't build them fast enough!

Porc seem to have understood this joke, and apply the logic to their customers...

It is simply a Taycan "Estate" and never intended to have any off-road aspirations. They make a similar variant on the Panamera.

It's the sort of thing that appeals to the sort of person that likes that sort of thing, I expect.

Electric for me, oh yes - next time I get a new car. And very much a Porsche, given the quality and dessign. But I do not understand the enormous powerplants, the number of electronic gadgets and features, and certainly not the prices of these cars. Today I have a Mazda CX-5 SUV. It is not very powerful or quick, it is not luxurious, it has no heritage, it has no state of the art design, it will not last 300k km. But it does the job I want it to do. Gets me to work, Bergen-Oslo-Bergen four times or so a year, ok for shopping, pulls my horse carrier, gets me through the snow or to the mountains with it's four wheel traction. 500 bhp or so I cannot use anyhow, so why spend money on it? But a similiar car to the CX-5 with electric powerplant and a range of say 500 km? Splendid.
