That's not fair fellas.
Not necessarily defending it but just wanted to level the playing field a bit. Anyway you get the benefit of midges, clear air and thistles up your kilt so what have you got to complain about? I miss home. Not sure you can defend an additional charge of £16.50 on top of the £34 to deliver to AB (316 miles, 6h 51m) when the company can deliver to lands end (539 miles, 10h 42m) for std charge? In the end I organized my own transportation for less. I appreciate it's a cutthroat business and it's not a level playing field but to penalize us lucky enough to live in the most beautiful and peaceful country in the world isn't fair.

Royal Mail have missed an opportunity to be at the forefront for deliveries. For too long they have sat back doing the old style post and parcel service. They have decades of logistical experience and a network in place. It looks like those at the top have had their heads buried and been complacent in developing and managing changes. Sitting back in their corporate chairs. Even their longstanding services are often less than customer friendly. Parcel delivery is often poor with non delivery and having to go to the local depot to collect BUT with extremely restricted times. Seeing the way they are run reminds me a bit of British Leyland and the other old school nationalised industries.

Agreed Sospan - the lack of investment in IT to leverage track and trace actions drives me mental. The staff are working with one hand behind their back.
I am working on a project for route optimisation (where is my parcel now stuff) for a big company right now and this stuff is largely off the shelf and has been for 10 years.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Unfortunately, the Royal Mail has suffered from Treasury underfunding for decades, it needs to modernise its basic infrastructure and the recent increases in postage costs have only compensated for much lower mail volumes and gone to plugging the massive pension fund deficit they have, rather than invested on innovating the service

As I said earlier our Royal Mail experiences have been positive, this was delivered to us the next day, it's what happens in a village The only thing right is the village and post code in terms of detail and I'm certainly not a Sheriff. p.s. the Morgan does not reside at this address for the benefit of any undesirables ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/03/05/ad002.jpg) I found this outfit very cost effective and timely when I have posted off Morgan bits and pieces.

Once sent a postcard from a US road-trip addressed The house with the green garage door On the sharp bend Tyrie Fraserburgh Scotland UK Last two lines got it to the right country .... next one up to the right sorting office ... and into the hands of the postie for the Tyrie area who knew his round ..... delivered no problem. But get one . Or / in the wrong place in an email address and that's the end of it!! K
