Evening all,

In light of the situation in the past year my car hasn't had much use, which has made me consider if I would be better off selling it, rather than having it sit in the garage for evermore.

Changes with how and where I will be working going forwards mean that the drives to work in it will come to an end, on the occasions I have used it I haven't found it that enjoyable and it doesn't make me smile. But I know if I sell it, I will never be able to afford another!

However, has anyone else found themselves in a similar bind with all whats been going on etc?

Hope all are well,

If it no longer makes you smile, maybe move on.

But first wait for better weather, and more freedom?

I understand where you are coming from. A year or so ago I bought an MG Midget because I was offered a perfect one. I've probably done 100 miles in it and I'm wondering why on earth I bought it.
Mind you, it does make me smile, it's a great little car....but unused for months now.

I would not make any decision in haste based on feelings generated over the last year.

I am looking forward to some better weather and a partial return to normality as more of the population gets jabbed. If it means I can drive in the sunshine with the roof down and sit outside a pub for a drink with friends that's a step in the right direction.

I bought my 4/4 when I was a young chap in the Military unable to drive it very much due to active duty it sat in my parents garage, whenever I came home on leave I would start her up and take her for enjoyable spins. Having got married and starting a new career out of the military with other priorities and money requirements again the Morgan sat in the garage with not many miles going under the wheels. Move on 15 years my career accelerates and we move to America, even though my job entailed being away internationally the open roads meant the driving started to increase. Today I still own my 4/4 with a +8 and an M3W, I certainly considered selling the 4/4 on a number of occasions but she made me smile and today my wife of 42 years and children would say thank goodness I didn't. No one can make the decision for you only you know in your heart what you must do.

I had my +8 on SORN for a few months just after paying several hundred pounds on servicing brakes etc and then taxed it two weeks ago been out twice since then and it was a joy to drive, so I would hang on for better weather and more freedom then make a decision

Give it a while longer and if you still feel the same this time next year move it on.

This year has been like no other for our generation and it's not a time to rush into anything you might regret.

Good luck and stay safe.

No doubt took a long while to save up for it. I'd keep it unless you need the money or you don't think you'll get that opportunity again to save up.

Had to sell mine last year, if there had been another way I'd of been happy for it to be sat in a garage for any number of years. As others have said wait for some nice weather few good drives and I'm pretty sure the love will return.

If not flog it.

If you've lost the love you should flog it.

I haven't used my car much the past year obviously but I still get a smile when I walk in the garage and see the mog there waiting for better days. Ive only had it two years and last year was a write off so the love is still there !

If you don't need the money keep it ,it is better a Morgan in the garage getting very little use than money in the bank getting very very little interest .
