Happy Birthday Craig party. How did your annual service at Williams in Bristol go yesterday?

Thanks Rob

I couldn’t of picked a worse day weather wise, first time I’ve driven my 4/4 in the rain hide My wipers didn’t work at first, but then they came in action after about 5 minutes, Williams found no faults, so I’m unsure why they didn’t work at first

Return journey was sunny with roof down, great fun,. However it was a major clean up when home

I’ve had that intermittently from new, I’m certain it’s a poor connection on the multi plug at the wiper motor, it’s not a very good quality plug and wiggling it makes the go again.
The multitude of pivots can dry up a bit too under the scuttle, I removed all the wiper arms and left them running a while with a little lubricant here and there where I could reach, this certainly helps.

My wipers refuse to work periodically but their function is restored by jiggling the multipin connector behind the steering wheel.

Happy Birthday Craig!
As for wipers, my 90 is similar. Pretty sure it's down to the multiway connector by the steering column. I'd suspect any of the multiway connectors in your wiring loom.

Pen Blwydd Hapus!
Try cleaning the contacts in the multi pin plugs. I think many systems in Morgans can suffer similar problems. Many connections are open to damp, especially under the wings. As the cars age they can deteriorate more. I replaced some bullet connectors under the front wings with new and sealed connectors as I had a front indicator failure caused by corroded bullet connectors.

It is the connector. Well worth removing cleaning & spraying with damp starting.

The connector I’m on about is on the wiper motor itself, very accessible, if they ever play up again, leave them switched on and fiddle with the plug, if they jump into life you’ll know it’s that plug.

It’s best if you pull over and stop to perform this test but perhaps this is why some cars have treads on the running boards and the bonnets open sideways, maybe the passenger is supposed to shimmy along the outside and fiddle around while on the move.

Yep, I've had no wipers as well and the connection at the motor was the problem. I cleaned the pins by plugging and unplugging a few times, spray with electrical contact cleaner and then insulating tape around the joint to hold secure.

Sorry, should have said happy birthday Craig, have a good one.
