Most Morgans largely keep the rain out, have heaters and don't disolve in the wet. Why not use them instead of letting the tyres go square sitting in the garage.

RBW, thanks for sharing your thinking been there done that in an evolving process, though the Covid effect has not been the driver relative to my own thoughts of selling my Morgan, more my ageing process, where logic suggested it was perhaps time to consider a tin top sports car, should I still find a degree of enjoyment on local twisting roads as opposed to the Southern European adventures we once enjoyed in the Morgan on occasion...

Affordability would seem to be key..? For many a year I was too busy elsewhere to make use of my Morgan, even though converting it into cash could have sped up progress in some areas of life, there was ever the hope kept alive that we might still enjoy perhaps one more European adventure...? As ever time flies and seems to accelerate while doing so... to the extent that my Morgan has become a garage queen for quite a few years, although for the most of that time kept insured, taxed, tested, serviced fluids changed and ready to go all year round... Just in case.. (-:

Affordability is indeed important, IF part of that could also relate to investment thinking then I suspect Covid, Climate change and the effect of the perception of the young relative to the value of a Morgan may increase in importance with the passage of time..?

I agree whole heartedly with others as to the sense of value in that having a Morgan or other Classic machine in the garage can have personal value in excess of that which others may be unable to appreciate, but then I suspect few of us bought our Morgans by prioritising logic over emotional involvement with perhaps a bit of man maths thrown in..?

I have owned my +8 since 2002 and though I have not covered a great many miles in it, however those miles were ALL very special, no commuting or shopping trips ever, and perhaps that is why it still sits in the garage when a more suitable classic with all year round weather protection and a good heating system would be eminently more suitable in my climate and at my stage in life.... Yup, I have driven my Morgan in frost and snow and over many a back road in years past, but not much chance of enjoying that sort of fun these days and probably less so in future..

For as long as there remains no NEED to turn my Morgan into cash it can sit where it is, and I can sit here locked down hoping for another balmy Summer day or two of freedom to enjoy Morganeering for another few miles more... Fingers crossed...

If you don’t get any enjoyment driving it any longer and you barely drive it, there’s a message there. I did that with Nero, my Roadster. I’d had some great times in it, some fabulous trips but in the end after moving up here, it just sat in the garage and I found I was making excuses not to drive it. And it dies them no good just sitting there unused. So, a deep breath and sold it. I walked away from the dealers without a backward glance. I do miss it at times but I think it’s the great times I had with it that I really miss.

A Morgan is a toy to be honest - not day-to-day transport. If a toy stops being fun, then it's time to part company. But as others have said, now is not the moment. Firstly you might feel differently when spring has sprung. Secondly, you'll get a better price when it has. Sprung, that is.

Another view might be, if you don't need the cash - just hang on to it. Why not? I have mine on SORN at the moment, so it doesn't really cost anything - when the sunshine comes, I'll use it again.

A couple of years back my knees were becoming ever stiffer affecting access and egress from my +8, fortunately less so today. For those with such problems it seems a Morgan owner has created an instructional vid to assist overcoming any such issues...

An interesting video.. I had to try his way.
The Aero Chassis Plus 8 is too wide to hold the passenger seat, so I used the driver's seat. Otherwise it works well!

The chassis rail in my car makes the foot perpendicular difficult. I'll stick to my method. Where I need help is winching out.

A humorous video but I would be a touch concerned at putting the weight of his left hand on the steering wheel, I would suggest putting it on the dash. I once saw a chap getting into his Morgan putting his hand on the top of the windscreen which I thought was not a good thing to do, at a car show some years later he told me he had stopped doing that as he had cracked his windscreen doing so.

Yep I use the dash & definitely not the windscreen.

What's wrong with stepping over the (closed) door so that you're standing in the car and then just sitting down.
Very easy and impresses the locals...
Not recommended if the hood is up though.
