I think I got one of those at 11/50 even though my car was first registered in 2015! innocent

That is why I said manufactured, not registered. There are quite a few M3W's that have sat about for quite a time before being sold. I know that by the time the Brooklands M3W's got into the 30's of 50 they were on post 2014 chassis for sure.

..... and of course the dealer advertises it as a 2015 car which for new purchasers is true but a misleading indicator of specification.
It took me a while to work out (with the help of this forum) I had a hybrid earlier chassis, even at the first meet I went to, everyone was convinced it was a 2014 version. However if a Brooklands is what you want then given there’s only 50 in the world, a leap has to be taken. I’d do it again even though I know a lot more now. The only major things I didn’t budget for at purchase were the lower wishbone brackets and Phil’s version of the Centa mod, both now done.

Thats a seriously dangerous failure, thank god your still here to tell the tale! What happened when it let go if you don't mind me asking.

It was at very low speed (<12mph), but it slewed the steering sharply and we went into a tree - hence the dent in the manifold. It went back to the factory, where the chassis was replaced. It was not a wishbone failure: the weakness was around the bushing tube welds.

It did make Crack of the Week when I posted it in 2018.

The bushing tube is part of the wishbone and it looks like it is that that failed. I know from bitter experience that it really doesn't take much of a bump, in the wrong place or at the wrong angle, on the M3W chassis to bend it and that will result in a chassis change as a repair by Morgan. It doesn't look like your chassis change was as a result of cracks in the lower forward wishbone mount or the upper rear wishbone mount area. The wishbone failure was probably an unfortunate, isolated case of a bad weld in a critical component, luckily it didn't result anything worse.

The damage to the chassis was only a slight distortion to the lower longitudinal tube. The deterioration in the mount that others experienced was not evident.
