When we imported rubber from Malaysia we always found lizards & spiders survived the voyage For many years, I imported leather training binders from China that came in corrugated cardboard packaging, the binders further encased in sealed plastic bags. While unpacking a shipment in my home office situated at the end of the garden a large and hairy spider jumped out of the box and made a break for it behind the cupboards. The body and legs were about the size of an apple. For quite some time I entered the office with trepidation and plucked up the courage to look behind the cupboards only some weeks later. I found no trace and so assume the animal escaped and her offspring are coming your way, some time soon

Dad had a saturday job in Aberdeen docks as a child. Apparently they used to dock Banana boats there many moons ago.
As the grab crane lowered them onto the dock all the spiders that had hatched on the trip ran out. They were stood around the outside with brushes and other implements to squish them before they escaped. He said that sometimes it rained them. It was only later he found out that often they were tarantulas. Not certain if it was true but it put the jibblies up me!
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
