MOT today pass with no advisories ,took the Librands manifold and Cat off last year after emission fail due to the 200 cell Cat .
Now happy to stay with the factory manifold .I now have a Librands manifold and new 400 cell Cat that is wall decoration .

That's good news, I have an MOT to look forward to in early summer.
I've had issues with the Williams manifold/ exhaust and re-map in the past but an "Italian tune up" on the way to the test center and a polite request for the emissions test to be conducted first has worked well for the past two years with a result well within the pass parameters.

I have had problems with the MOT on my 4/4 for the past 3 years!
My friendly MOT tester has to stuff a rag in the exhaust to get it to pass!
I've no idea whats going on, I have a sports exhaust and it's always been a problem.
He says it doesn't have enough back pressure?

If i ever have to change MOT testers I might have to stuff the rag in just before I arrive

I also have a side exit exhaust. Insufficient back pressure was offered to me last week as the reason the tester had 5 attempts before recording a pass.

He also got the engine stinking hot in the process. He said all of a sudden the lambda reading plunged from the failure zone to well within the pass zone.

All of which indicates to me that there is either something amiss with the stability of the exhaust gasses, the testing equipment or the overall procedure.

Jobs before next MOT: A temporary tailpipe reducer and some exhaust wrap.

Thank the gods we don’t suffer this annual BS test here in Australia.
What if the testers machine is out of calibration, try asking when it was last tested and calibrated and ask to see the paperwork, that has worked for some here when disputing a speeding fine 😬

My Mog had it’s first Contrôle Technique yesterday, passed without problem, though as the tester drove it out of the workshop the clutch slave cylinder failed. New one should arrive tomorrow, though it was only replaced two years ago...
