Starting to think about European Travel as the UK & Europe see light at the
end of the Covid Tunnel, I note we can only stay in a European Country for a
maximum period of 90 days, however according to the Government website
our dog can stay for 120 days.

Any one in Spain fancy baby sitting my little puche for a month. laugh2

Just planning a trip to Donegal and while looking at routes was quite taken with the name of this funeral director. Wonder if the local crematorium owner is called Bernie Bonfire? goodnight

This year my plans will be for UK trips. Crossed fingers for Silverstone Classic as the first stay-away.
Why no foreign travel?
Basically the UK is ahead of other countries in vaccination ( so far anyway and nationalistic bias allowing !) so the lag in other countries and the further spread of virus outbreaks means too big a risk.
I cannot see foreign travel expanding quickly until vaccines are given to other countries to stem global spread. Just because we in the UK are ahead doesn’t automatically mean we can go anywhere abroad. Unfortunately Politicians are buggering things up to cover their mistakes. Create a fuss to divert attention.

Why a risk if you have had a jab?

It remains a risk because vaccines are not 100% effective and if a new strain emerges, it might increase the risk substantially.

Just consider that c5,000 a day in the UK are still being infected. That's a lot of people not taking adequate precautions.

Because it doesn't stop you contracting Covid, or carrying Covid, it basically as I understand it stop you becoming seriously ill if you contract Covid and possibly needing hospitalisation.

There is another factor though - opportunity cost/risk.
How many good years do we have left?

We are not 25.

By not getting the most out of life until risk is eliminated - we run the risk of wasting some of the last good years we have left.

And on that cheerful note, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
