I just came across this pearl of wisdom in an old post by BlackAdder:
If you flash the headlights you then need to push forward twice to re-engage main beam functionality.
Don't know if this helps but....

Thanks, I saw that a few days ago and desperately tried it lol. Maybe it’s just me ? And my logic is horrible . But give me your opinion as to Functionality of that scenario. Your driving down the road , it’s Dark ....you flash your BRIGHTS ( my dumb guess is that’s your High beam, let me know .... I’m begging ) so you flash your bright at the dark turn ahead ......... now Get this . In order for you speeding along in the darkness ... You need to push your turn signal forward TWICE ! To rein gage Mainbeam functionality ? ( god knows what that means) to turn ON the main beam ? Your driving your lights are on you flash your high beams and release stalk . What is the “ push stalk forward to “ REINGAGE MAINBEAM FUNCTIONALITY?

Article on when to use headlights ? Lol Thank you ! I now have proof positive of the Dipped beam being the LOW beam. Which is exactly what I surmised . And of course the High beam would be called the “ main beam”. Sorry for asking , but my military background, begs for definitive, identifiers - that do not leave a boatload of misinterpretation. I would assume it’s a “ across the pond “ / USA. Thing . Lol

Mogegg,
I have a 2016 Three wheeler.
Headlight switch is 2 position - all the way down for headlights on
With headlight on low beam -- pull back on the stalk to flash high beams --push forward on the stalk once to lock on high beams --push forward on the stalk again to go back to low beams.
Don't know anything about the double reset.

That is exactly how my M3W headlights work as well, not had the double push reset but few M3W's are the same. If you flash the headlights or move between high and low beam you should be able to hear the relay clicking near the fuse box. If it's not clicking that could be the problem? It is when you get problems like this that you really could do with a full and easy to follow circuit diagram but, like the maintenance manual, it doesn't seem to exist. You maybe don't hold this forum in high regard Mogegg but it is a better source of information than you will get anywhere else about the M3W. The information situation is far better now than it was in 2013 I can assure you, mainly thanks to TM and the sharing of information, experiences and solutions.

Nice one planenut - the LH drive and RH drive cars use the same stalk too (Just the micro switch is fitted upside down) as we found out at Grindelwald when the stalk broke away.
Lucky I had Hettie on standby hand signals.
