M M - MIATA MORGAN

Hello to all Morgan fans.
Important changes have taken place in the corporate structure since the last time I posted my projects here.
The new owner has better defined the range of models with proposals in line with the Morgan tradition, but new from a technical point of view.
Completely different is my project of combining the modernity of a well-known and widespread roadster (the Mazda mx-5) with the characteristic features of the Morgan Brand.
What do you think about it.
Ciao.

And considering the fate of the BMC, perhaps not the best business model to be copying smile

That's a good idea.

Personally, I don't think there would be any need or desire from MMC to sanction a 'Morgan style' Mazda, and with all the current litigation flying around in the restomod/replica world, I'd be treading very carefully with using obvious Morgan styles and symbols....

Do you not think that with the current buzz around continuation/recreation cars that a modern take on the SLR with the ali chassis would be a better way for Morgan to go? ... Morgan will never compete with the big boys .... it should keep to its strengths.

I appreciate the skill in your work and look forward to seeing other ideas .... In this case I don't think a re-worked Miata will appeal to the people that a current Morgan appeals to ..... some Mazda customers might buy a reworked and more luxurious version of the MX5 for the sake of being different (I'm thinking of the Vanden Plas versions of ordinary saloons back in the day with their added radiator grilles and leather) .... but in general those wanting a modern sports car won't want the 'trad bits' and those wanting a 'trad' Morgan won't want the modern bits.

I've tried to be constructive while giving my opinion (and it is just my opinion and worth accordingly).... I just don't think this works for me.

Regards

Simon, I would think there is a market for "SLR replicas" on the CX chassis.

Blimey that Abarth is a pretty car, I feel a test drive coming on....

If you can find one it will probably have to be "pre enjoyed" as Fiat, sorry Abarth, stopped making them some time ago.

They are going for a song so should prove to be a good keeper being an Abarth they'll always appreciate besides the fun factor.
