Today I took the car out of the garage to take off & clean the rear wheels. I took the chance to grease the cart springs & waxoyl as well.
But wrt the stops there was no obvious witness marks from my one short trip. I left them for now as they are given the restrictions.
I can though give you one extra fitting tip.The bottom clamp is difficult to get at from above. With the wheels off there is a nice gap under the plywood wheel arch. It is rally easy then to get a spanner in. If I were to do this again I would take the wheels off.
John, find a good Morgan bashing road as per the video below to check that they are working. Take a look 7mins 34 secs in. This is exactly what my car would do before I fitted the assists.
Today I drove the car to Languard Fort as the road in has nasty speed bumps. I knew already the car seemed smother but the drive really showed it with no nasty bottoming out even when the rear end compressed so fast the tools jumped in the tool tray.
I'll need to check for sure after a few more runs but the set up seems fine
After the fun of the drive yesterday I removed the tool tray to check all was well. There is a clear witness mark on the drivers side spring and a smaller one on the passenger side. As I was one up with my lithe body on one side this makes sense.
So my thoughts are that the set up is fine. All the nuts & bolts were also tight.
Whilst I was there I risked using linseed oil to treat the wood. The bottle stayed intact this time.
Warning & apologies to Craig for the unclean parts in the photos Drivers side Passengers side
