Coming home over the Pennines on the A66 on Wednesday evening in the tail-end of Hurricane Ophelia, my driver-side screen was being continually buffeted and wind-pressure pushed the top corner increasingly further away from the wind-screen itself.

I'm fairly sure that the vertical front support bar that goes onto the outside lock-nut has bent slightly outwards, and would like to ease it back to a tighter fit, but this looks a fairly delicate operation. Has anyone any experience or suggestions before I get too carried away?

There was an upside to wind & water on the road - I trod lightly on the loud-pedal and averaged 33 mpg at 58 mph over 400 miles, and that in an oldish Plus-8! Noisy, but fun

I wish I could impart my wisdom, but I have to confess that I chickened out and gave the job to Life's to do when my car was serviced.
They did a great job with the 'tweek' and now the side screen sits against the foam pad on the windscreen frame with just the right amount of pressure, so all is well.
But I have no idea how they did it without marking or twisting the bottom slide rail.

I have just pushed the top of the sidescreen inwards with the door open. Bent it just a bit, but that bit resulted in a much better fit!!!! Just go for it!

I copied the system from the MGA with a "hook" that locks the sidescreen frame to the front screen when I close the door.

Alternatively take off the lowers to expose the stainless supports. You'll find there is a little bend in the support On mine the bend is across the hole just above the screw (picture). You could put the support in a vice between some protective strips and increase the bend inwards a bit.
I have mine set up such that the front is snug on the winscreen and the rear stays clear of the chassis (paint) Cheers J
