Hi all, does anyone know what the SSL Rear "competition" spec consists of?
I'm potentially, possibly, maybe interested in a Plus 8 for sale that has it fitted and interested to know how it differs from the standard spec. The owner isn't available to ask at the moment. It isn't anything to do with the dampers as they are listed as race spec and an an additional fitment to the SSL kit.
Also, are all SSL rear suspension systems the 5 link type or are there others?
Many thanks!

I think they only make 5 link rear suspension for trads. I can't answer your question on the spec . Why not ask them directly. I think Peter posts on here regularly so he might answer you. I have copied of their website his details

I appreciate you are convinced otherwise but I suspect that the words "competition" may just be a descriptive phrase to indicate that the owner has specified adjustable dampers.
The original design used a non-adjustable Bilstein, then came the Quantum units which were fully adjustable but expensive (perhaps it is these?), and finally adjustable Spax dampers.
The other possibility is the ride height setting, perhaps it has been set at the lowest level to minimise rear roll?
Again I am not an expert but to the best of my knowledge all the SSL: 5L systems are the same design. You can of course tweak the spring rates, the ride heights , and the damper settings to your heart's content, so perhaps the owner specified that he wanted it set up for competition.

Thanks Andy, it may well just be spring rates as you say.
