I did once say when I started it up.... "If you put your hand over here you can see how hot the mufflers get...."

Do you think there will be a successor model? MG does not have an engine larger than 1380cc, and that one may struggle to pass Euro 5 approval. I hope there will be a successor but I think it will be more like a F-Type (as Rog G says) than the M3W V-Twin. Probably far more reliable and practical but without that charismatic V-Twin on the front and like the F-Type I expect it will not have the same popularity. With MMC using BMW products for the 4 wheelers I think something from the BMW Mini looks favourite, if anything? Sorry for drifting from the fuel tank thread. Whatever it is I hope it has better fuel tanks.....back on thread.

Could be a B-Type: CX Chassis & BMW drive train as the other current Morgans. Engine choice could be the B38B15M0 turbocharged 1.5l inline 3 cylinder engine (100Kw -134hp & 220Nm -162 ft.lbs), Euro-5 & US EPA compliant. Longitudinally mounted (as in BMW F20) powering the rear wheel and attached to BMW manual (or auto dual clutch 7-Sp box with paddle shift for those with a bum left leg).
If the above happens, then I'd guess that the current M3W values will go up as we all love the V-Twin in the front (which is what Morgan wants, to show that their cars offer good value regarding ownership cost, justifying the relatively high purchase cost).
I'd rather see Harley's M8 used (now available as a crate engine, so anyone company can use), US EPA and Euro5 (expected). Water cooled heads version with a rear mounted radiator as on the early water cooled M3W. Just got to sort the Centa drive system.

I concur with olwyn. The M8 would be a good choice, especially as it can be built with none or very little torq pulses. As for the compensator, have a look at this Compensators

Interesting video on compensators. The Darkhorse one sure has a lot in common with the Centa, ie, the rollers but used in a different fashion. And they still would be in an inaccessible location in the Morgan.

The M8 in my road king is a fine engine!

Shortened / narrowed CX with a M3W5sp back end drafted onto it, cycle wings, proper rollbar and hood option... but I wonder if instead they might replace the V2 with the i3 / Mini E drivetrain instead of the 3 cyl 1-series/Mini engine?

Gents, Thanks for admitting me to the forum! I bought a 2016 M3W(with 10k km) this winter and have been preparing it for summer over Easter - I'm really looking forward to summer days with the car. After having put the car into the garage I have smelled a hint of gas and decided to take out the seats to inspect the tank. See attached what met me. As a lot of you have experiences both sides have cracked in the mounting brackets, however, it looks like it is so severe that there is a fuel leak at the right tank. Based on the accumulated dirt it seems like the problem has been there for a while The woodboard below the tank is still dry, so its not dripping fuel from the tank but the area around the bracket is soaked. Can it really be true that it is leaking through some of the welds for the mounting brackets? Do anyone know if there is currently a long delivery time for replacement tanks from Morgan, or is the only solution here to have the tanks welded? I guess there is still no long term solution from Morgan on this problem? When I read about all the MTW problems, I ask myself which tricycle is more challenging, the old Russian sidecar motorcycles or the young Morgan threewheelers ... (I have an old Ural in my shed).

Welcome to TM. I have made your photos more visible Mr Morgan, I hope that is OK. The RH tank is certainly leaking and has been for some time, as you say. Although it could be from the cracked mounting bracket it looks like it could also be from above and running down the front of the tank, looking at the dirt trace. The fuel filler pipe goes into the RH tank and has been known to crack at it's base where it joins the tank top surface, also the fuel pump module fitting is in that area, with a black plastic cover over it and the fuel contents sender aft of that. The fuel pump module has a rubber ring seal at the top that can get distorted if incorrectly installed. It would be worth checking these out for leaks before replacing or weld repairing the RH tank. If the tank has cracked through the welds and into it, causing the leak, then removal and an aluminium weld repair will be required. If it is just the brackets that are cracked there is a simple repair that can be done in situ by bonding a strengthening plate over the existing ones, I have details or you can get them here: https://www.mtwc.co.uk/full-list-of-articles/. May 2019, if you are a Morgan Three Wheeler Club member. PM me if you cannot access them and I will send you a copy by email. The LH tank will need the repair anyway. Check the retaining straps are tight, when they are lose the tanks bounce and cause the brackets to crack. A weld repair to the tank would almost certainly be quicker and cheaper than trying to get a new one from Morgan.
