Hi all, new to the forums but have a question that doesn't seem to have been asked before. I am after a pair of driving goggles to protect me in my 3 wheeler. I have seen many cheap pairs out there but I want something I know will be impact resistant. Is there a reputable brand out there? Going for the biggles look. Also, for those that use them, do you find they affect your peripheral vision?

I don't recall any problems with my peripheral vision.

I have a pair of halcyon ones but now I wear glasses & don't have aeros they sit on the shelf in the office.

Thank you all for the replies - some things to investigate there. I think I prefer the smooth lenses as the angle may interfere with the view - I will see how I go - they will probably be a father's day present down the track - keeping quiet about buying things for the car as the car itself just put a dent in the bank balance.....

I have the Halcyons, the lens angle is not noticeable after a few minutesl. So it is a matter of taste. If you wear prescription glasses, check out Nannini goggles. They have models in which you can fit inserts inside the "front" lens. Take the inserts to your optic store and get a custom made glass according to your prescription. The insert fits to the goggle with just one thumb screw on each side. On my wishlist, as I am nearsighted, now added on farsighted due to age. Now I drive with contacts behind my Halcyons. Works ok, but a bit of a hassle.
About buying things for the car - when my fair lady raises her eyebrows over some new item, I just mutter a few words about the expences of ladies' hairdoes and cosmetics. In a friendly way, of course....

No good for the Biggles look but on the bike and sailing I often us Bolle countour safety glasses which are tinted and polarised as well as safety. Plus they just look like contoured sun glasses.

Eye protection is very desirable. I always wore glasses when fly fishing. Polarised. I saw a photo of someone with a fish hook in his eye and I had one in my lip once, 3 stitches after it was cut out. Also I got caught in a hailstorm in the Mog on the M4, roof down. The hail was really stinging at 70mph but sunglasses saved my eyes.
My current go-to sunglasses are Serengeti with a wrap round. I have a couple of spares, Polaroid and Rohan.
Aero goggles don’t do it for me, even with a flying jacket on. I think an M3W should have them as part of the deal when buying!

When driving any of my Mogs I wear a white cloth flying helmet which protects the ears from noise and stops my head getting sunburn (avoids loosing a hat). In the +8 which has a windscreen I use sunglasses, in the 4/4 and M3W which do not have a full windscreen I use Halcyon tinted aviator goggles with the split lens and have never had any vision issues. I also carry a helmet with full face visor in the 4/4 and M3W for when it might rain or hail as it bloody hurts on the face otherwise. The flying helmet and goggles were obtained from Holdens.
