I have my 2006 4/4 booked in for a few odd niggles and was wondering at 25,000 on the clock is it worth changing the gearbox and diff oil at the same time

On the basis of purely mileage, I wouldn’t bother but on the basis of age, then you might as well. Both easy straightforward tasks, so shouldn't cost much.

The official Morgan schedule talks of changing the diff oil at 20,000 miles for cars till 2007. It suggest changing the gearbox oil at medium & full services.

Interestingly, looking on morgan-motor.com, the webpage on “Morgan Works Servicing” lists 3 levels of servicing for traditional models fixed price servicing, but although there is a reference to “oil and fluid checks” I cannot see any mention of actually changing the oils (apart from engine oil, of course.) There is then a price list for traditionals and as you scroll further down the page, they then list requirements for CX chassis cars, in a similar vein. However, prior to the price list for those cars, there is a section headed “additional items”, and there, amongst other things like plugs, brake fluid, coolant, etc. it states 60,000 miles or 5 years for gearbox and diff oil changes! Whether that also applies to trad models is unclear, as the location of this info on the page suggests it only applies to CX platforms. Very confusing, but we come to expect this with Morgan! ( and check out those prices...+vat remember! Ouch!)

In the hand book that came with my 2016 4/4 Sport, Ref Axle oil maintenance, it says:
“Morgan recommend that the axle oil is replaced every 100,000 miles OR 5 YEARS. It’s most important to use correct quality ‘Hypoid’ gear oil when refilling.
I was quite surprised that Axle oil was early as 5 years, so only just had mine changed.

Good old Morgan....that’s now 3 different stipulations from official literature!
