All well and good the UK becoming all green energy, but what about India, China and the US pollution. We are a drop in the ocean unless these countries encompass the same policies.

Well greenpeace should start here as up to twenty years ago all the scrap cars on the Isles of Scilly were dumped here for as long as there have been vehicles out there .

Same picture in Croatia - "you can dump this in the ocean" is a general saying there....

Might be different in Germany but here in the UK I have every confidence that you wont be stopped from using an old ICE car, but just from buying a new one.The large majority of car users wont be happy struggling to maintain an old ICE banger and for that reason alone, the UK car fleet will change over to electric leaving behind only those old ICE cars that can be kept going and which are worth the effort.Their effect on the environment will be trivial - how many classic cars even now do more than maybe 1000 miles a year?

The only time I can recall a UK government stepping into take away from people the right to own or use something they have long posessed was the over reaction to guns and their effective confiscation. It simply isnt the way we do things here.

I disagree with cerealsurfer. What he lists are pretty ordinary family bangers with no great merit and with huge production volumes. In my experience, classics are small volume and also bbvehicles that wre a bit special in their pomp. Sure there are exceptions - the E type was reasonably high volume but it was recognised in its day as special.

Here's an interesting looking little electric ..... made in the Netherlands .... I don't know any more about it than what's on their website .... certainly find it more engaging than the current crop of bland EV-mobiles.

It puts me in mind of one of those I'm only just Copen cars, quite a pleasant little shape for electric.

I see the Polestar 2 is about 40k now I can see that bothering Tesla quite a bit as it looks quite nice and the finish is good.

Those Copen's make me think of a late night liasson between an early Audi TT and a StreetKa ..... I think the Carice would need speccing with a decently grunty motor even if it meant less range or a bit more battery weight ..... just thought it looked fun compared to other offerings ..... and fed into something we've often said on here about electric cars without all the excess fat and gimmicks .... got to give them props for trying. 🙂

Yes it is a fresh look and I can see it appealing to a lot of youngsters, it has a fun look about it and that we do need right now.
