Sure is, Calum, here’s where 42% of my money goes, came down say hello, not so much as a thank you, just a sign saying “closed for business”.
Typical...you go all the way down to Edinburgh to hand over your 42% in person and there's nobody in to receive it! You'll just have to hold on to it yourself. Then Geordie, with my blessings, burn them down.

If you pay the parliament, they will fix legislation for you. (That was the Russian approach: so you become an oligarch) If money goes just to the tax system, others will benefit from your contributions and you stay poor. With a rate of 42%: relatively poor But Hannes the Scots are better off than the English. Thanks to Blair & Brown we have no English parliament just a UK parliament where NI, Welsh & Scots MPs can in theory vote on English only issues. Not that I am, advocating another group of politicians. Also under the Bennet formula Scots get £2600 per person per annum from the tax system the rest of the UK £19 so don't weep for them too soon.

Looks like something from the 1940s in Germany.... Certainly a lot of concrete.

I think it's the Wolf's Lair in East Prussia. I'd love to visit it - is there much to see?

I think it's the Wolf's Lair in East Prussia. I'd love to visit it - is there much to see? a) you are right! ✔️ b) It's worth a 2-3 hours visit, but there's not too much of infrastructure there. I had the impression they try to keep things on a low level not to attract to many Nazis. Nevertheless an impressive place and most of the tour is a free walk. It was Hitler's headquarters in Poland, the Wolf's Lair near Ketrzyn in Gierloz. This is the site of Stauffenberg's assassination attempt, which failed. The bunkers were blown up by the Wehrmacht at the retreat. Not all of them could be destroyed because they were simply too massive. edit: They have multilingual information boards there ![[Linked Image]](https://up.picr.de/41119225mp.jpeg) If you are interested in a real impressive WWII location I would recommend Wolgograd/Stalingrad in Russia. I was there repeatedly during Soviet times. The Russians know how to present things related to The Great Patriotic War.

Sorry for causing the drift, to make amends, here’s a monument I saw today, erected to commemorate the Polish men and women who fought in the war. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/05/03/E5079313-FD8F-47A9-A7C0-414FC24342BD.jpg)

Ewan .... have you been inside the Parly ? .... odd building .... not sure why, but in some places you can 'feel' the weight of the concrete over your head, a bit unsettling .... sadly parts of it are already showing their age .... can't see it lasting to be an iconic building in the longer future. .... the chamber is airy feeling though .... and the seats are slightly more comfortable than they look 🙂
The Castle, on the other hand, is a fine example!
K I did visit when it was quite new, but the kids were with me and they kicked off big time, I had to exit with haste, what I saw was impressive though.

Are some people getting old and strange? An apology for a thread thrift on ™? 🙃 That is worth some discussions!
