For me a wellknown problem:

Since I own the 4/4 (my first english car) I had to use Google a lot of times to understand various measurements I have read.
I will look for a measuring tape with inches etc.

That's a good looking knob. Plenty of girth.

1 Quid is slang and = 1 pound and there are 100 pence to the pound.

Decimilisation took place in 1971 prior to that there were 12 pence to a shilling and 20 shillings to the pound.

two-bits is a quarter dollar which comes from silver coins being sliced into "pieces of 8". And then there is a shaver who shaves a wee bit of a piece.

Or, a shave and a haircut... two bits!
