Hi fellow Australian Morgan owners

Both my wife and I have now retired and are shrinking our fleet or cars.
Our Morgan is a 2011 4/4 tow seat with the stainless wire wheels and few other factory options, timing belt and water pump just replaced, rear rack, new rear springs, adjustable AVO shocks, indoor car cover, both short and long storm covers, front valance and only 33,800km n the clock.
On Car sales there have been no Morgan’s in the 2000’s for ages other than a Plus 4 2018 which just popped up for $109k and they are asking around $60k for 80’s four cylinder cars, so I have no basis on which to price the car in the current Covid inflated market.
We do not want to either overprice or underprice it, any opinions on what sort of price range would be about right?

I am thinking $75k maybe $80k at a push ?

Cheers John

I would think (without seeing it) that you are right on the button there, judging by pricing across the Tasman-we have very few 4/4 here newer than 2000 though.

Hello John
Probably not apples for apples!! Last year I imported an older Morgan from UK to Aust. so did a tally up of all those costs and applied them to a later model car.
Allon White in UK are showing a 2014 4/4 on their website for 32,950 quid which currently converts at around AUD $60,000. Making a few assumptions and adding all the shipping and import costs that I had plus GST, customs and port charges on arrival takes it up to around $78,000, so I would say you are probably ballpark in your thinking about the pricing. (That $78K figure doesn't include the luxury car tax which, if you were able to import, might just be nudging the threshold and add some more to the costs!! Currently you would struggle to get import approval for a 2011 car I believe unless you had been living and owned the car in UK before bringing it out here.)
Best of luck with your sale.
