Well you do have to allow for non-gender assigned options now, They. (I can hear Rich boiling up as he reads this.....) They This is a different use than the traditional singular they, which is used to refer to a person whose gender isn't known or isn't important in the context, as in the example above. The new use of they is direct, and it is for a person whose gender is known or knowable, but who does not identify as male or female. Clear enough.. In the good old days they were known as it

You know you guys are expending a lot of precious brain power on a mistake. At this point we can’t afford to lose any. However I found the “ mistake “ interesting as well.
