I find this thread quite amusing given that my body has made some automotive choices for me. In my case advance osteoporosis in lower back and hips along with osteoarthritis knees and hands ex neck now bolted back together, I have a condition in my feet that makes standing for any length of time very painful and limits my walking even with bespoke shoe liners. And then there is my Leslie Nielsen bladder that exudes 3x the liquid I ingest what seems like half hourly oh and then the blood pressure. All in all not bad for 59 I used to DIY cars to save the pennies, and a lot of the time did a better job than the garages. I am still working so the idea of fannying about on a garage floor or driveway knowing how I'll end up feeling is a diminishing activity these days. Just bending washing cars is enough to have me wishing I'd paid someone else to do it . To those that still can and do enjoy it while it lasts Although it's much easier to not fiddle when you don't have a special car like a mog that keeps calling

I am as one with all of you, just lifting the 18" wheels off and back on gets me going and as for the 18 grease nipples, well I have decided that that's what credit cards are for. I now save my energy for driving and enjoying and to hell with a bit of much between the spokes.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

The fact we are all getting older & a little more imobile is something we have to accept, but believe me, make the most of what you have, when you can, particularly when it comes to enjoying our Mogs! At 72, thinking I was reasonably fit & active & enjoying retirement, having experinced what I thought was indegestion that I couldn't shakeoff using all the normal remedies available from our local chemist, a teephone consultation with the local surgery has resulted in an Endescopy, CAT, PET & MRI scans, followed by a Laparascopy to confirm Oesphegal cancer; all this in about within the last 8 weeks! Chemo & surgery to come. So chaps, make the most of life while you can, accept a few aches & pains as a result of advancing 'old age' , it could be worse, as i'm sure others on TM can confirm!
Nice thoughts. Here's hoping it all goes well for you

There does seem to be a growing chorus.......but as the saying goes 'if you don't use it you lose it'........perhaps we are thinking about this 'the wrong way round'....if you didn't have your Morgan and all the reasons to fettle and clean and if you are tall like me struggle to get in and out of the car etc (getting easier with practice after so many years without a restricted access Morgan) is actually contributing to your well being and mobility. Yes we may not be able to do the things we did even 10 years ago, at least having a Morgan (or any hobby come to that) gives you a sense of purpose. an excuse to get out and tat/fettle, even though it takes longer and when we overdo it a few aches and pains....but the joy of ownership may more than compensate.
Sometimes we forget to count the blessings in our life.

Don't give in. My friend, 13yrs older than me, joined us on a 9mile walk last week, and did 5miles. He is 87.

Definitely keep mobile & use it. To quote a mate from the US. 1. Never waste a stiffy 2. Pee whenever you can 3. Never trust a fart
