I do not see any appeal in an electric M3W, it’s just a poorly built expensive contraption without the style/noise/vibration/smells/heat.

Electric VANDERHALL is $35k in the US with proper warranty and dealer support, who would want an electric M3W for $60k+?

Has anyone been seeing any of the Vanderhall's around? I have two local dealers and have only seen one local Venice in the wild, and that was some time ago. Given their price I would have expected to see more. I see Slingshots all the time, but given the fact that they are also IC rear wheel drive, I'm wondering if they simply offer "more fun" for the money.

I think Morgan may have more of a market for electrics in Europe, but they may not catch on as much here in the US. Slightly different mindset. We'll see.

We have probably 3-4 newer plus4/roadsters in our local California Morgan club, it's almost $150k here for the old chassis (the new chassis is not available). All guys in their 70s. Good luck offering that to a younger demographic with no dealer support/warranty :-) I just do not see it's working.

I am still surprised how they did succeed to selling my car to me, and still having me happy to pay all the maintenance/fix bills smile

We have a Slignshot dealer across the Bay from me, within sight of my house and yet I have seen only one on the road but I have seen 2 Vanderhalls and their dealership is 1-1/2 to 2 hours away.

There are at least 5 M3W in that same radius.

The electric M3W has been tried- how far did that go? The M3W started off as a economic form of transportation but became famous as a sporting car. In this guise it was an exposed motorcycle engine machine that was loud, shook and was fun to drive. For the next M3W to be a success it will need to be nostalgic, loud, shake and have an exposed motorcycle engine out front. These are the magic ingredients. It also needs to be reasonably priced, reliable and easy to work on.
Using the new BMW 1800 motorcycle engine and drivetrain looks perfect to me. The engine is beautiful and comes with the clutch and transmission and it shakes!. An extended driveshaft to their own rear drive wheel would eliminate many current problems. This would leave the chassis and body to Morgan their forte.

It would work if, and only if, they copy what Triking did with the Moto Guzi drive train. The right hand seat would have to be narrowed to accommodate the offset drive shaft.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
