I have had one of those for years, maybe 15 years originally bought to power a million candle power lamp. I now use it to power my tyre pump, I can't even remember when I last charged it. Earlier model but still Yuasa 12v 7amp/hr. Can't see a problem.

Blow it up at the Landie and use one of these or make one.

My son and his girlfriend carry their longboards for miles in North Cornwall looking for a quiet beach, they walk from St Eval.

I used Yuasa batteries on my golf trolley. I bought them for safety back up systems in work and we changed them annually. Golfers in the factory were given the oneyear old ones. A very nice “benefit”. When the last one started to struggle after a pretty good life I changed to Lithium. The one I bought cost £130 and is capable of 27 holes of golf. Pulling a bag/clubs weighing 10-15 kg plus the trolley wight with ease over grass with hills etc. I will dig out the specs.

I would say look at the Li-ion or Li-poly units that offer car start/boost/charge as these usually give a 12v socket and will be better for repeated heavy charge/discharge than a lead-acid. They will also be lighter and probably a lot safer to handle.

Well, it looks like a solution has been found, I had a spare old electric fence battery in the shed, so I dug it out, put it on the battery charger in recondition mode for 36 hours, and did a test inflation. It worked fine, which is handy considering the battery must be 10 years old.

I suspect however that Rich's solution of blowing the thing up first and portering it to the launch site might end up being the preferred solution, but it's nice to have the option.
