I have been interested in Roger’s Bump Stops and have been studying the photos on the relevant threads. However, my 4/4 is one of the last and the handbrake is on the opposite side of the hoop to that shown in the thread photos. I.e. my handbrake cable passes between the hoop and damper on its way down to the brake backplate. I am thinking it may not be possible to fit a bump stop due to a foul. Has anyone tackled these on a late car with this config?

HJF, I suggest you contant Rog on this forum directly with a PM. He developed the kit, and also a modification (in cooperation with another TM member) for hand brake problems. I do not know if this solves your problem, but he should be able to help.

I’m in the process of moving the cable using Rog’s adapter kit. It’s all straightforward and takes about an hour to do, as long as you make sure to use the nuts supplied in the manner they were intended. I mixed them up and ended up recutting a thread. My fault entirely. On mine the battery had to be moved as well and the cable from the handbrake lever needed to be secured away from the prop shaft. Still the work of an hour if you don’t make my mistake.

There’s a thread on here started by Calypso Red about the modifications.

Gary

Thanks for the replies. Roger has now sent me fitting instructions that address my config.
