I have a DMS Technologies Red 750 battery in my 2001 4/4 Zetec which no longer holds a charge. I have scoured the web to find a replacement of the correct physical size but alas to no avail! Can anyone advise where I can find a suitable battery for my car that won't cost the earth please? Thanks.

I have searched and only found a similar sized one suitable and unfortunately it's of a similar price. Bought it from Tanya who also sell red top 750s, but they were out of stock till October. I bought a full throttle PC925. I take it, the battery is under the bonnet?

I debated whether it was worth the cost and effort of moving the battery to the rear but as batteries last for years, it didn't seem worth the effort. Yes they are more expensive, provably by an extra £70,, but if the battery last 7 years that's only a tenner per year. Even less if it lasts longer.

I moved mine to the rear on my 2002 +8, not as a cost saver but because of the availability of a replacement should it fail whilst touring Europe. Sod’s law of course as when I moved it (I changed it for a Halfords 5 year job) and it never gave a moments problem ;-).

The battery I replaced was 14 years old - they may be expensive but they last
