Hi everybody,

I need a new pulley for my 3 wheeler.

The steel option from Morgan is very expensive and too heavy.
The supermax option would be great but they are based in the US so not easy for us in Europe.
Fabian who made the lightweight steel option is not making them anymoreI think?

I have a friend with a very well equipped machining shop who would be able to make something.
Does anybody have an old alu pulley to send to my friend so he can copy it?

Thank you,
Andrea

Supermax are very easy to deal with no matter where in the world you live. Most people in Europe receive their modified pulley back within 2 or 3 weeks. However, you will still need an old alloy pulley to send them which they machine down before fitting their polyimide overlay.

Fabian tends to make his lightweight steel pulleys in batches so you should make sure that he knows of your interest if you want to go down that route.

In my opinion, either of those options are a lot less hassle than trying to get one made yourself.

Where are you located? We have an old well worn one that was destined for a garden sculpture (along with some other old M3W bits like exhausts and mudguards that have been replaced by G56 options). You can have it for the cost of postage/courier or pick it up. PM us if interested

m3wservices.com have a batch of alloy pulleys on their way to being supermaxed at present - expected to be landed back in France around end of July, so if your interested get in touch direct.

Along with the three alloy pulleys that Morgan replaced I also bought a SuperMax. Yes, it was quiet. While it lasted. Eventually, it failed due to the smallish bolts holding the neoprene to the milled alloy. Some bolts fell out and marred the belt while others just turned over and let the neoprene slip on the alloy. The good people at SuperMax told me up front that there was no warrantee. I was one of the first but the basic design doesn't fill me with confidence. I bought the new stock steel pulley and while heavy, it works well and silently. I have no complaints.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
