I would like to add my name to the list of those welcoming you to TM and more importantly Morgan ownership... I picked up my Morgan in Feb circa 20 years ago, and drove it from Market Drayton to the Central belt, I had never driven a Morgan till that day, having cut my teeth on Lotus and Porsche the Morgan takes a bit of getting used to...more so as the chap who had rebuilt it was insistent that I start out on the right foot and take the trip on without the hood in place, snow on the hill tops, rain forecast, and rain it did, I was surprised to learn that at speed I did not receive the soaking I had expected. My guess is that you might fancy yourself as a driver, as do we all, however it seems the Plus6 has caught a few folk out, perhaps in relation to the lack of digital control systems, suggesting that Morgans can be more demanding of driver input, which is perhaps the main reason I for many a Morgan purchase..? Hope you have a good journey home Ian.

Hi Ian, another welcome from your neck of the woods, there are quite a few Morgan’s in the area and the Jockmog Chairman is resident in Aberdeen. Covid has indeed put paid to most of the Jockmog meetings for the past year but it is hoped to get up and running with a picnic at Scone Castle in July then in the NE a meeting at Glen Clova Hotel and the Boat House in Aboyne later on, and there is the Autumn weekend (although not actually a weekend this year) in October
Have a good trip and we’ll keep a lookout for you on the coast road once the car is up here.

Good evening all, Sorry for the delay in replying, busy filling a skip. All - Thank you for the friendly welcome. Bernie1 - Excellent, if possible I will sign up to JockMog.and attend some of the events. Graham G4FUJ - Luckily we are not driving back up to Scotland on Thursday, its Sunday, so hopefully we will not have thunderstorms. Lets hope the forecast doesn't change Luddite - Of course I fancy myself as a driver .............. On a serious note, I am aware of the couple of accidents that have occurred and will be taking it easy for some time to come. In many respects part of the attraction is the lack of driver aids and the need to understand the car's 'behavior' and the road conditions before you push it. Additionally, if it was only about the performance, I'd have kept the Exige. I am looking forward to hood down motoring, in a lovely cabin and at sensible speeds. Good news re the number of Morgan up in the North East of Scotland, some appear very local. Cheers, Ian

Morning Ian,
I’ll keep a look out for you in the evenings I try not to do early mornings any more. Probably used to pass you some mornings as I used to commuted in the other direction from Inverbervie to Aberdeen. Clare the membership secretary should be in touch, she’s a busy doctor so might take a few day to respond, look forward to catching up sometime.
Brian
