I would like to fit a clock does anyone know how easy it is to find the prewiring
Thank youbehind the dashboard - does the dash have to come out? ( hopefully not)

The was wiring is already in place in my car, it was just plug and play. Most difficult part is making sure you drill the hole in the dash in the correct place.

Remove the 2 screws either side of the dash and centre screw and you will see the cable tie which needs to be cut where the clock wiring is attached to the rev counter bracket. You might be able to access by removing the underdash panel but probably easier to remove the 3 screws and support the dash on a towel on the steering cowl.

Sorry if pedantic and absolutely no criticism intended. It should be obvious but, to the uninitiated..., Craigs super helpful photos show the flap wheel to clean up the hole prior to the one drilling it with the hole saw.
Also Rob’s advice: on mine, to remove the dash for access, I would also have to remove the series of little screws that attach the undertray to the edge of the dashboard, as well as the three main securing screws.

Europa spares do a lovely clock which fits in well with the Morgan dash - battery powered and sticks on. No drilling, no wiring. Battery lasts a couple of years and easy to change. About £40 I think. Suits those of us with a Yorkshire mindset.

I went through two of those in 3 years Phil, kept stopping, went through multiple battery’s so I gave up & fitted the Smiths clock.

I apologise Doug, the pics were not sent in the correct order. The clock was a tight fit after drilling the hole, so I sanded the hole (Mdf) with the sanding wheel until it was a nice snug fit

Yes Craig, I did the same with flap wheel due to tight fit.
Incidentally, just like you, I also had the same experience with the battery powered clocks. Worked fine until I changed the battery then kept stopping. Bought another and same experience!

One tip..if you are going to use a hole saw it’s best to ‘score’ the dash surface first by using it in reverse in the drill. Less chance of the teeth digging in.
