I'm sure this subject has been covered by the peeps on here, why am i asking ? well if its the latter its gong to cost me a lot less to travel under the channel than the former.

So has anyone used the tricycle card when travelling on the Euro tunnel ? as it is a lot less expensive.

Regards

Chris

Great question. I would book it as a tricycle then argue the toss when you get there. I doubt the ticket collector would know the difference. Just take the extra with you. 🙂👍

Eurotunnel only offers a car or bike (not a trike) option. It classifies the M3W as a car and I have never been able to get away with anything else. Has anyone registered as a bike and made it through?

Eurotunnel booking system doesnt recognize my number plate or a model called a "Three Wheeler". But under motorbikes it asks

Is your motorbike a three-wheeler (trike) or fitted with either a sidecar or trailer?

My only experience on this topic during M3W ownership was with the Humber Bridge tolls. It was categorically classed as a car (actually LDV) by them frown

In Austria the M3W is registered as a 3-wheel bike.
Youngsters with an car-license are not allowed to drive one. They need a biker-license for it.
(But those are regulations from inside the EU - UK is not part of that party any more)

Still apply in UK as far as I can see.
Depends when one passed the various driving car/bike tests.

With the pending introduction of low emission zones in several UK towns I was wondering if my 2013 euro3 car would be charged. Checking on the Tfl site its ULEZ compliant. Interesting that the result page shows motor bike graphic.

Humber bridge Board are a bunch of eejits.

We have a 33 foot RV and the first time we ventured in to gods own county in it, stopped to pay the toll, and was going to be charged full HGV cost (taxation class is HGV light goods)

When i informed them it was 7.5 tons ( i drive on Grand dad rights) it then changed to being charged as a 7.5 Ton Luton van.

So i think the plan is book as a Trike and risk it on the tunnel, i will keep you informed.
