Sounds a great trip! 8+ hours in a day is helped by lots of short stops and sharing the driving...distance depends on the type of roads - long highway stretches reduce our enthusiasm for long days....

Kudo's to you guys! I live in CT and agree that RT 1 in ME is an ideal 3W cruising venue. I've found I much prefer getting soaked on a motorcycle though!
On a related note, my eldest son (age 18 on the trip) and I just returned from a 6500-mile, 23-state, 8-day tour around the US....in a rental car! The thought occurred to me about what that would be like in the 3W and 'pure Hell' came to mind.

That would be very exhilarating, to say the least. I once drove a new TR4a Newport Ca. to Newport Ri in 4 hours under 3 days and then back towing a mahogany sailboat in 4 hours under 4 days. I was young and stupid but damn it was fun!

We know he's nuts. It's like pulling off a bandaid. I'd want to make it fast too before I thought about what I was doing. This 3W was stored in Copake, NY last time I visited and according to Larry, looked like it had been thoroughly abandoned and trashed in a NY alley before it arrived and was cleaned up..

We packed the wheel bearings on the trailer before the return trip. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/07/19/4DCA6722-1C16-46F3-A72C-09209F55A6A5_1_201_a.jpg) 21 years old, fresh back from Vietnam and feeling pretty invincible. Thats me sitting on the fender of my new TR4. My buddy switched driving duty and kept a pretty funny diary about the experience.
