The France vs Switzerland match was one of the most exciting matches for me in a very long time. I'm happy for the Swiss for their victory because they fought and incredibly came back into the game. Switzerland's best game since William Tell. What happens tomorrow, we will see. I'm a little skeptical about the German team. But they are good for positive surprises from my point of view, despite their coach.

In which case you would have loved watching Bristol against Harlequins in the premiership semi final. A weird result tonight - not at all what we expect, though its obvious from your comments Heinz that its less of a surprise to you.

We have players on the team whose value in total is just under a billion. We have 10 players who play in the Premier League in the UK. We have a coach who is a destructive sadist. A coach who has the most evil strategy than anyone else. Take teams like Hungary, Switzerland or Denmark. All average teams but great coaches. Coaches make the difference these days. Whether Southgate is a good coach I can't judge. But my grandma, RIP, would have been better to line up and change players than Löw. He should have resigned in 2018. No county league would want him as coach. But the DFB mafia extended his contract before! the 2018 World Cup. he collects 3.5 million every year. Now he leaves his successor a shambles.
In this respect, it is okay that we lost. I would not have stood it if Löw had celebrated the victory as his own success. I wish your team a very good progress in the tournament. Honestly.

To be honest, I didn't think that the German team played that badly last night, they certainly came very close to scoring in the closing moments, sometimes good teams and players on the right occasion often play well in spite of their coach/manager.
From an England prospective I was questioning why Kane remained on the pitch, as he really achieved very little till the second goal that put the outcome effectively beyond doubt. Overall an entertaining game.
No-one was more surprised than I when England won, as our track record against Germany in the knock out stages of a competition have less than lived up to the 'billing' since 1966.

Anyway, the German players can kneel just as well as the English players. That's what matters these days...

I didn't watch it but please clarify for me; are you saying that English supporters booed and hissed the German team during their anthem? If so it's a sad comment on the times. I would have halted the game, emptied the stadium and invited back in anyone who was prepared to show a sporting attitude. Nick

How is it that soccer fans are such yobs?? The rugby fans have a good level of respect for all opponents anthems no matter who they are which definitely influences which sport I value - and watch!
