My one of these is in the engine bay on the driver side bulkhead- Different engine ,but fuel injection ---and it is a morgan, so theres no guarantee of uniformity!.

Mine is too, we are trying to help Dani in Spain identify his filter on a 2011 4/4 Sport. The mucky picture is a library one from an early post by someone else that I borrowed.

I don't know the answer to the question of the missing filter but looking at my parts books for the 4/4, the 2006 onwards book shows a fuel filter (as +8Rich's pic) and the 2014 onwards book does not show a filter (I assume it's in with the pump). So somewhere in that time frame it's been moved.
This info might just save Dani the time of looking for something that is not there!!
Cheers
John

That would be the best possible answer for Dani, thanks John.

Dani, Craig and Rich show a fuel filter. Check other areas for something similar. On my 1993 4/4 it was in the engine bay in a clamp on the bulkhead. Slightly different shape with in/out pipes both on the top rather than on opposite ends.
On that car I had to replace the pump so fitted a filter between the tank and new pump to protect it. A cheap one only as it was on the low pressure side of the pump. The pump was on a plate just forward of the rear axle and accessible from underneath and above ( tool tray removed). Pump at fear of car and main filter near the engine, not near the pump.
Morgan have some odd ideas sometimes so expect the unusual! laugh2

Thank you all for help. I think the filter is in combination with the pump in the tank.
I've been thinking and my motorbike, also with an injection pump, also has a ridiculous filter on the pump in the tank. I'm going to choose to fit a nice filter in the engine bay, just not sure how to manipulate the original fuel line to get it to work.
to install it properly. Preferably with the plugs that the original Ford filter has. Or I will do something else. Not sure yet. But I don't like just a filter in the tank as they are very coarse and don't have a system for condensate. I could of course pour some alcohol into the tank to dissolve the condensation and burn it off. But thank you very much for your effort!
How do you get the plate out so that you can look at the tank from above? That way you can also get the pump out of the tank, right? Or do you have to remove the tank for this?

To access the rear lights I suppose you have to remove the plastic side screen storage tray like I have done here. Still quite a tight squeeze though ?

I think it's the same for you as it is for my model. You can see that your tank also has only one outlet on the plastic cover, underneath which is the pump in the tank. All the others have 2 direct outlets on the plastic tank cap. These also have a separate fuel filter. I have checked everything thoroughly. Yes, I have a workshop with a lift, cameras, mirrors, etc. I can't find a filter.

Line number 9 goes from the pump installed in the tank directly to the injector distribution without a filter. There is no filter on the entire pipe route. The return line first goes to the black tank for the gases and from there via the non-return valve back into the tank.

The 4/4 Sport apparently does have a fuel filter. Its tucked down behind the tank on the drivers side, and difficult to get to on the Sport
