Good morning again,

Continuing to read the handbook for my 1997 Plus 4, I am referred to the "one shot lubrication system" apparently operated by a plunger in the driver's footwell. I am unable to locate a plunger in the footwell. Could someone tell me if I am missing something here, or would this have been an item which had been superseded?

Think it was removed in 2002, so you should have one (unless a PO has removed it).

Mine was on the bulkhead, centrally above the gearbox tunnel.

Yes, I can see a tube sticking out of the bulkhead above the transmission tunnel, but it does not appear to do anything.

Top right in this photo is what it looks like (on earlier Morgans with the mechanical oil pressure guage)

The tubes marked '40' got to the top of the king pins, and '38' goes to somewhere on the engine block. 42 goes to the back of the mechanical oil pressure guage. If your oiler has been removed, and you have a mechanical oil pressure guage there may just be a tube from the engine block, through the bulkhead and directly to the guage.

This is what it looks like under the bonnet (mine has the pipes that go to the suspension blanked off as I have fitted grease nipples there in their place) ....
The operating button sticks through the bulkhead above the gearbox tunnel by about 50mm and is about 20mm in diameter ..... they were sometimes removed by owners if they leaked. See if you have grease nipples on top of the suspension uprights as this was a known modification

Alastair, you seem to be heading in the right direction, on my 1999 4/4 the button was under the bonnet about level with the near side front wheel, which caused confusion at the time.
