One of our American members on TM has made a similar arrangement for his final journey in his trad model that he has enjoyed over his lifetime.

Interesting that an article infers that the Hamsters Plus Six drowned in a flood but then he says it was crashed and is now dead?

Interesting, I heard somewhere that you cannot be buried in such a way. Because the vehicle is part of the deceased estate and therefore cannot be destroyed depriving the beneficiaries of the estate of the value of the said vehicle.
Whilst this sounds sensible I am not an legal professional, so could be talking out of the wrong orifice (as usual).

That sounds very logical David, the only thing I'm wondering is that maybe the extra costs for him incurred are maybe the special exemption from the Estate, like you I haven't a clue legally just a guess. Certainly it is possible in the States, so our TM'er is ok for that.

The car will be put in a container so not ruined however I expect it will never ever be dug up again so basically gone for good. I feel it is better that this story. A guy spends a lot of effort building a car to the spec he loved then got a terminal illness. So rather than leave it to someone who might keep it as a memory of their friend or relative he gets it crushed so some 16 year old doesn't buy it and crash it. Yes because I am sure a 16 year old crashing it will be more damaging to the car than having it crushed at a wreckers yard. To me this is just total stupidity and a waste of a nice car but I am not the one who had a terminal illness. https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/influx/cars/nissan-s13-crushed/

The only people who will cre are the planners and the people responsible for keeping pollutants out of the earth: they may be hard to convince!
The car will have to have all fuel and oils removed, along with the battery. The planners may decide that it is essentially landfill and it is illegal to send tyres to landfill. So, unless he gets all the people who control all these things in agreement it isn't going to happen.
It would be much easier to get permission for an above ground sarcophagus!

If I were his relative I'd tell him to leave me the car and all the cash and I'll sort it all out for him once he dies......

I think it is a megalomaniacal idea as well as a waste.
