Took the roadster for its MOT yesterday and it flew through with no advisories. One thing that did worry me was the emmisions. The lambda Vue was right at the limit of 1.03. Is this normal? Is anything that can be done to bring it down? I had it out for a run before the MOT, but it was several hours after that the test was performed. TIA

Most Morgans seem to respond well to an "Italian tune-up" just before the emissions test.
My +8 is always marginal on emissions, but the local tester knows this and gets the cats really hot before testing , it gives him the opportunity to drive the car which he enjoys anyway.
Sorry I can't be more specific about the Lamda value and that lovely Series 1 ST220 engine , but there are many others here who know it well and will be along soon.

I never had that issue on my S1. The gaskets from the manifold to the cat can fail. Put your hand near them with the car running & you can feel is they leak but obviously avoid getting too close and burnt.

My MOT place operates an appointment system so it's easy to arrive with the engine steaming and the emissions is the first thing he tests. You could even use him, nice trip down the A19. LoL.

TIA I did just that on the way to the test centre as I had an appointment, but they took 3 1/2 hours to start the MOT so would have cooled quite a bit by then. Guess they wanted to admire it, maybe stand and pose with it, or even take it for a spin 🤔

I haven't found anyone local that I trust to leave the car at not fear for it being interfered with, so took it to lookers Ford, as it quite secure. I'd prefer someone who's used to morgans or classics. Who does yours John as it might be a nice trip down the road?

My S1 was just the same with the Lambda when it was fitted with a K&N filter.
After replacing the K&N with a standard filter, the lambda was improved.

After replacing the K&N with a standard filter, the lambda was improved. I fitted a new standard bosch filter a few months ago, so I'll check through my history file to see if there's any change in the reading to see if it's always been at the limit.
