I talked to a recent plus four buyer today. Sadly they have had the incontinent radiator, door handles failing , still not fixed squeeling breaks etc etc. They didn't advise buying one right now We said two years and it isn't a joke............ Stuff like this on a 40 grand car wouldn't be acceptable.

Still not enough storage for us even with the MY22 updates
I'd love to take a door appart to see if a storage slot could be incorporated in the inner panel

I am seriously thinking of changing my current +4 for a Plus Four. Whilst the intention is obviously to keep it for ever, I need to keep an eye open for what it may be worth if I did have to sell it.
With view to that, are there any options that are an absolute must have for resale & any colours that I should really avoid?
My current preference would be almost the same colour scheme as existing : Baby blue, black leather, 4 black wire wheels, black pack for widescreens grille etc.
Aircon & heated seats are a must, am thinking body colour dash & central column. Can't decide re manual v auto, bad knees & London traffic say auto, pleasure of driving says manual.
Would the above restrict the resale opportunities drastically ? or should I be thinking green paint, stainless wires, walnut dash & tan leather?
Am open to suggestions! First off I would say spec the car you want not the one you think will sell on. It's your car to enjoy so make sure it's the one you want. Having got that off my chest what follows is my personal choice which obviously is not necessarily yours. Morgans are modern cars that look old therefore to maintain the illusion they should be in solid colours. My Plus 4 was and my Roadster is Jaguar Imperial Crimson, think Morse's Jag, which in my opinion is a good old fashioned colour. That having been said if you fancy metallic then have it. Personally I rather fancy Porsche Miami Blue, not metallic but hardly classic but a great colour. I also like the old fashioned look that body coloured wire wheels give to a car. Have a look at Krazy Horse and the red Plus Four they have for sale. If you go for a 22MY car then go for the black pack, especially the side screens and A pillars if you spec a black hood or body colour if for instance you order a red car with a red hood. If you don't then you will always think that you have closed the doors with the flap trapped under the sidescreen. Believe me on this. Look at the new MMC videos for both the Plus Four and Plus Six and you will see that both cars have black hoods and black packs. As for manual vs auto then you should of course try both but for me the auto wins hands down. The gearing of the manual is dreadful with the ratios being far too long. Conversely the auto goes like a train in any mode. Just look at the torque figures. Manual box is 255 lb/ft whereas the auto is 295. Just shows you which box the ECU is matched too. The acceleration is just manic and so much more controlled than my Roadster which has the Aero Racing ECU and sports exhaust. Interior trim is obviously entirely personal but I would always go for walnut. As I said spec the car YOU WANT!

Also what is a "pillar"? Best regards, John

That Red one with black seats and orange stiching has hung around for months now at the dealers, brand new and lovely alloy wheels. I always prefer a Connaught green or Indigo solid colour but we were both strangely attracted to the BHM Plus Six colour that has been on the market for quite a while now also. TBH I'm glad they are not closer to me I could be tempted. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/07/18/orn.jpg) I could certainly enjoy ownership of this combination ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/07/18/mgn.jpg) I had spotted the Orange Plus Six - unfortunately it would mean the removal of my workbench in the garage to make it fit otherwise would have been tempted...but then one of the reasons for a morgan is to have fun whilst retaining my license. Berrybrook have a similar colour scheme orange Plus Four - if it was auto I would have bought it by now. The Miami blue looks fantastic, again manual, but for a few £K more I could have a new one rather than a 10,000 mile press car. but love the colour scheme. My original thoughts were very similar to that but with black wires & the 2022 hood. Also like the yellow with black wires thats for sale. BRG with stainless wires & walnut dash is exactly what I don't want.

Andy, the blank canvas is yours + the advantage of the latest rectification mods, you'll enjoy the process Seems the seats, radiator, roof and squealing brakes are under development as we speak.. at 80k it needs to be right. The blue car I put purely as a colour option, I wouldn't touch a press car when the journotypes have had a good go at wrecking it. The BB Orange one didn't hit the spot for me at all in the metal...not the same effect as the BHM Plus Six.

Sometime it‘s helpful to buy a „good selling car“.
As I was out buying a MOG I had a testdrive with the BHM lime green Plus4. After a short time our eyes where in peace with it. But this colour all the days? Doesn‘t matter, I realize that my pockets are deep enough for a brand new Plus4.
I think about orange and tan… my wife said: do it your way, it‘s your car. But she said: thing about the time about your Scooter accident or your illness… buy a car that I can sell in trouble without talking to idiots.
Now she‘s sportsgreen with black (the MOG, not the wife). The factory wooden dash’s aren‘t my cup of tea, so I think about a homemade one.
Thinking about sparewheel or not, if you got a plain back, it‘s difficult to cut a whole in.
But as bespoke by another member here, that‘s my car. You must buy your car.

I wonder if the press car is a safer bet, if it hasn't fallen to bits after 10k miles of uncaring drivers testing its 0-60 capabilities it must be reasonably well screwed together. My first Caterham was described as a demonstrator, I bought a copy of EVO magazine that weekend to find a picture of my car cutting the grass whilst going backwards at a race meeting, I was not amused.
