Andy, I think a wooden veneered dashboard and stainless wire wheels could really help in the resale stakes, out of choice I would chose the alloys though. An auto box to future proof the knees too I think.

I think the painted dash in the 4/4 Sport I had worked well but it was 27k brand new and I think peoples expectations will be a little higher at 80k plus for the new model, possibly half will be new to the breed too so not as romantically involved as some maybe.

To gauge what specification is currently in vogue and selling, keep an eye on the Morgans for sale on the MMC site, after a few visits you start to recognise what is or isn't moving quickly.

We're all different but I wouldn't compromise my choice on the basis of reselling.

I chose carefully and I'm in it for the long haul anyway, but too many Morgans are specced in a conservative way, and so there will always be a choice on the market of those traditional colours, and interiors.

Most buyers set off with an ideal combination and then compromise to get the closest to that spec.

My choice would be stainless wires, spare wheel, manual gearbox, walnut dash. Dark interior...black, or at a push red or green. I wouldn't refuse orange.
Exterior must be bright.........no metallics, and nothing in the black/grey/silver spectrum.

That's how I ended up with a red Roadster. It was the closest by far to my ideal.

That Red one with black seats and orange stiching has hung around for months now at the dealers, brand new and lovely alloy wheels.

I always prefer a Connaught green or Indigo solid colour but we were both strangely attracted to the BHM Plus Six colour that has been on the market for quite a while now also. TBH I'm glad they are not closer to me I could be tempted.

If I was going to leave the V8 camp it would be for the one Henry has in stock Sport Green with Tan interior + those beautiful alloys thumbs.

It was the same spec as my brand new 4/4 Sport in 2009, it's a classic combination that always sells.

I could certainly enjoy ownership of this combination thumbs

Probably never happen, but if I was buying a new Mog I'd spec anything I wanted that wouldn't be a straightforward fit later on.
Part of the pleasure is adding your own touches as and when you feel the need I think.

I wouldn't get too influenced by the 'how well will it sell in the future ?' niggle, you may only get the chance once, so chuck caution away and create what YOU want, after all tastes change over the years unpredictably anyway

Looking at a few cars for sale regularly, the main difference seems to be between those that sell in 2 weeks and those that take 3-4 months. In the hope that I wouldn't be in a real hurry when the sad time comes, I would go for what makes me happy. Mrs F tells me that happiness is keeping our current 4/4. I am rather tempted by a Plus Four auto with Garnet wings and an ivory body on stainless wires with a walnut dashboard. I would go for a black interior while Mrs F (in the rare moments when this fantasy is discussed rather than rejected) would opt for a Magnolia interior. That would be a compromise that would be good to get to.

I talked to a recent plus four buyer today. Sadly they have had the incontinent radiator, door handles failing , still not fixed squeeling breaks etc etc.
They didn't advise buying one right now
