With the high temperatures of the past few days, the windscreen had to come down.
I love to drive with the warm wind in my (rare) hair. pale
When I saw that piece of neoprene lying around, this idea came along.

Let's run a test.

It really does make a difference. The airflow doesn't come straight in your face anymore.
After a test drive of 160KM the lady of the house was really surprised and the very next day she wanted to go again.
Given the positive result, the easy setup and the reasonable looks I'll stick with the neoprene for now.

If I can find the right color neoprene to match the dashboard it would be perfect.
Maybe DaveW can help me with that. crazy2

Polyethylene (high density neoprene) is black and will do the job.

Check out my neoprene post in the How to section

Hello

I have hinges for my 3.7 Roadster from Morganpark Hamburg. The windshield does not interfere at all when folded.
The Roadster has an old type hood. Driving is fantastic with Brooklands

Christoph, that looks lovely with the roll over bar too it looks very meaningful and far better than the easy up option thumbs

The only other Roadster with a traditional hood that I have seen was a Brooklands special order and never one with Brooklands screens ironically.

I would them to mine but the new screen mounts don't make it possible sadly.

I guess all this wind in the hair (if you have any) stuff is fine at lower speeds, but having been driving my Roadster recently just with side screens off I do wonder how long I could hang on at speeds much over 60 mph. The noise and turbulence seems extreme at 70 mph and this from a man who was happy to drive an M3W at speed. In fairness though I always used an open crash helmet with earplugs for anything approaching a long journey. Maybe this is the answer for the Roadster, although flyscreens would add a new level of turbulence.

I find with my Roadster that engine, exhaust and wind noise, exhaust fumes being pulled back into the cabin at speed don't encourage fast motoring.....fine for short spells, but long distances it can be very tiring. No fun if you cant hear what the passenger and stereo has to contribute to the ambience of the drive. Having riden naked bikes most of my life, I'm very alive to the damage extensive periods of exposure to loud noise can do to your ear drums, even with ear defenders and a helmet, but as they say each to their own

For that reason, I did this test, and it really makes a difference especially at higher speeds +100Km/h.
But then again; how many roads are there where you can go more than 100Km/h except for the motorway which I avoid anyway with the Morgan.

I like aero screens but as you say below 60mph is best.

Well I finally got my conversion done.....

I took the help from a local custom carbuilder to fabricate the bits after my design. The fixing point have been changed and also the original windscreen so now I only need to undo and fasten 4 bolts to change between windscreen and custom built frame with the Brooklands and rearview mirror attached...

The guy did a fantastic job with the quality and finish on the bits so I am really happy with how it turned out.

I will try to post some pictures but I saw that they changed the layout of TM-IMG.COM? Anyhow I will try....

Cheers/
David
