Hi All, I'm in the process of changing out my fuel pump on my 2020 M3W as a precautionary measure to a Walbro unit, can somebody tell me how to remove the pump hoses please ?, I've had a look at the TM how to guide but my hoses appear to be different to those shown. Regards Dave.

You can see the little bit you need to push in with a screw driver in the bottom left picture, push in and pull fitting off, the top right fitting will need rotating to see bit you push in.

There are two tabs one either side on each plug, unless there is a specific tool available it looks like i need three hands .

This picture is the other end on the filter but the same connector just use a small screwdriver to press the tab in and the connector will slide off. The lower one in your picture is on the side, the upper one is underneath.

You can buy a special tool to help do this :

but equally can be done with a screwdriver to push the tab in , plus some dexterity twisting the pipe.

Carefully use a thin nose pliers to push in the locking tab and pull the fitting off the pump connection. LIGHT pressure with the pliers only. One hand on pliers and pull with the other. Put a cloth underneath to catch any fuel.

You have the standard hose end fittings Dave, you just need to push the tab correctly and wiggle the hose end. It will come off but they can be reluctant to move at times, there is no easy way.

If you want to replace the hoses and end fittings with some slightly easier quick release fittings look on eBay for "Bundy Type 7.89mm ID6" for the fittings and 7.3mm ID Ethanol proof fuel hose J30R9 73379 Type 3E, plus 11-13mm fuel hose clips.
