Good on them, they are a great forward looking dealership, I just hope they don't go too far as they are still basically a motor bike set up and boy what bikes !!

They took on Caterham as they saw Morgan pricing itself out of the entry level market. £45 k gets you a good Caterham new, you need £75k for a new Morgan.

Good idea, Morgans stopped being sports cars some time ago. Who wants to risk pranging a Morgan at their current price levels?

Caterham were one of my nearly cars, like the Elise, and Elan.
Nearly but not quite.

I drove one of the lower powered cars at KH when we went to test drive the Plus Four.
This "only" had 350 hp, but the scenery arrived at you VERY fast indeed. The roads were wet and but the handling did inspire some degree of confidence, but the excessive power on tap was tricky to use very gently.

I think they are selling well, especially the Plus Four - the point about these new CX models is that they need to be aimed at a new clientele as us old codgers and home mechanics are vanishing very rapidly. I'm sure they will hang onto a few of the diehards for which they will be grateful, but they have to look ahead as I believe they are are doing. I got within an ace of getting a new Plus Four but then realised it was not what I loved about Morgan's and relaxed back into the Plus 8. It's not to say I won't get one in the future when the knees finally give out and automatic becomes the only option, but for the time being the V8 burble stays

I think I would rather grow old disgracefully. Way way back in the eighties, there was an old guy with a V twin classic 3 wheeler.
He always showed up at classic car shows around Rotherham. His Morgan was a proper oily rag in every way. Everything was covered in oil, and I suspect it was totally original. He was leather clad, with wild hair and a straggly grey beard.
This was my time of obsessive polishing so I struggled to understand his mindset, but now I totally get it.
I hope his 3 wheeler stayed original, but I expect it eventually got rebuilt, and lost that PATINA.

Dan at KH told me a few months ago that the CX cars are selling well. But then he would wouldn't he.
