Saw a lovely Caterham 21 at Bicester over the weekend. While that was pretty much killed by the Elise, it still looks current to me today!

I tried a Caterham, mors sensible than the M3W but still a bit raw and weather protection was minimal.

Then I drove a Morgan 4/4..this was much better, we ended up buying a Roadster and the rest, as they say, is history.

If Morgan could put the 3 cylinder BMW/Mini motor into a Morgan, stripped back to basics and get it out for £40k at a profit then they might attract a new market of people who want a Morgan, but can't afford the Plus 4. They could call it the PlusThree...

Couldn't agree more Peter. My story is much like yours bar going with the 4/4 wink

I recently sold my Porsche and was in the beginning talks to pull the trigger on a Plus Four. Call it Covid boredom or just wanting a change. I spec'd up a build which came close to £90K. At the same time my Porsche retailer contacted me to say they secured a build slot for a Spyder which heavily optioned comes in less than a Plus Four! As the aforementioned retailer was quick to secure the deal I came to my senses and abandoned the thoughts of a new Morgan. Looking back at this, it is a hefty amount for what is in effect a much more easily built car from the Trade, IMHO.

The future of my 4/4 is up in the air but after reading this thread, perhaps a Caterham might be something to give a try.
