Some of the UK prices for Japanese sporty motors are getting amazing, a Tommi Makinen Lancer EVO at Silverstone for example, there is one in the carpark by my office in mint condition, he paid $20000.00 NZ$ that is about it here, and as for Subarus - the special Imprezas are as common as muck here.

Interesting commentary waikiore. Good quality Japanese cars are very much on the rise in Australia and overseas. Auction Record.....

Interesting the way that it seems some Japanese cars are increasing in value. I suspect it is just part of an evolutionary process..?
It seems us baby boomers have our interests and value set which differs from the younger folks by way of cars and much else. I suspect we are of our time just as the 20-40 year olds of today are of a different time, and in that regard they have been subjected to a whole different set of media influences...?
The arrival of a new young neighbour with automotive interests brought the rumble of a Nissan Skyline to my ears. As you might expect we made contact and the chat was automotive related... Pleasantries exchanged relative to each others cars, but in truth I was about as interested in his Nissan as he was in my Morgan.. OK so it had all sorts of chrome kit under the bonnet and carbon fibre distributed around, but it did not fire my imagination, and left me somewhat curious, and the main reason for my curiosity was that he suggested this Skyline might be worth £200k...!!! Also he apparently has it booked in at a cost of circa £10k to have the underside "detailed"..a task for which the company are fully booked until Summer next year.
Mightily confused relative to this set of plans and the evaluation thereof, I remembered that he spoke of a series of movies which it seems some of the now 20-40 year old generation were greatly impressed, and seem to have created an autoculture all of their own. The movies entitled "The Fast & Furious." Ever keen to learn I sat down to watch one such movie.... Yeah, well, not my cup of tea for sure, but it seems there may be quite a generational shift in old car values as the result of the young having their own and a totally different set of values...How that might work out with ones current "investments" I leave consideration in that regard to investors, whereas it seems best to enjoy what we can while we can.. ?

This is a rebuilt write off Gary that has had a thread of it’s own in the Aero section, it first appeared as a straight advert on the same site back in January but with no insurance details declared. So we made sure no unsuspecting TM’er fell into the hole. Good pick up Richard. Thanks for keeping this on the straight and narrow..... Still not sold at £53,500 "Reserve nearly met" statement - this has rumbled on since January now so we'll see where it pops up next time
