(especially with my bladder  ) This is a common problem. When travelling in the Disco, opening 2 doors provides a screen almost anywhere (once in Nottingham city centre). In the Morgan, I have to find cover - which is not always available. Starting to get tired of managing fluid intake prior to a long journey. At least intercity trains have toilets.

At 5p per mile Peter, I guess you are booting your Tesla everywhere Yup! We have cut the amount of petrol purchased by about 60%. And I enjoy driving it, Cheap, performance motoring.

A very interesting feature on hydrogen v electric based on real world data and experiences. Well worth a watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19Q7nAYjAJYOne comment I found really telling is that EV is inflationary in the infrastructure and development investment whereas Hydrogen wouldn't be.

Very interesting what JCB are working on with regards to hydrogen engines. It certainly cheered me up in so much that ICE have a future, and we all won’t be running around in milk floats and raping countries of their precious metals.

+1 That's the one I'm waiting for - same reasons  Buying battery now is just like the Government buy diesel policy - I've been screwed once by errant Government policy and only a fool repeats the mistake..

Right now our power usage can be marginal at periods of high demand, and that includes imported vulnerable supplies, so where will the extra capacity come from? Nuclear is obvious, but slow build and spiralling costs reduce the impact. If we burn more gas, it doesn't present much of a shift towards zero emissions.
That appears to be the elephant in the room.

Yup, that does not appear to be fully understood by many people  It's Covid that has achieved far more for the tree huggers than any Governmental legislation concerning the ICE to be totally honest in a realistic way. Lots of drivers have died as a result leave alone those reasons mentioned below. Air transport, cruises and general travel has been significantly culled, perhaps they need to think about prohibitive taxes on such things in the long term... I wouldn't have a problem with it, as with every decision if I can't afford it I don't do it.

I still think that many people believe we'll be able to carry on much as we are but just by changing to battery (or hydrogen for that matter) for their personal transport. The problem is, no one seems to have the courage to tell them just how much things are going to change over the next 10 years.

The problem is, no one seems to have the courage to tell them just how much things are going to change over the next 10 years. Absolutely, this is the big one for us older ICE car fans and the population at large, I am looking forward to the as yet un invented innovative bulk transportation solutions which will need to be developed and introduced quickly to have any meaningful effect on the environmental impact imho. Personal vehicle ownership/usage has no place in the medium to long term future as I see it. Beam me up Scotty...
