Ah, that last drive sprocket looked different from where I was sitting, hence my uncertainty. Must remember my binoculars next time!
Presume you were somewhere in the crowd? smile

Looks like you could easily lose a hand in that beast.

Referring again to the Autocar picture of the prototype, I think we can assume the new 3/3 will have a version of their CX bonded aluminium chassis with a water cooled engine. There are quite a few 3 cylinder engines around including Ford, BMW, Volvo, Chevrolet, and even one in the Caterham 160. I think Ford's 1.0 is the most likely as the BMW 1.5 is a bit much at 130 hp and over 200 in the i8 version. Hope we get some info from Morgan soon.

My thoughts are:
Ford Ecoboost 1.0
Probable 3 versions, the basic 94 bhp, then 125bhp and top of the range 138 bhp - all come with different trim/upgrade options, including sound system as it will be so quiet now to drive.. (in line with Euro 6/7/8?.. hide )

Still bevel box/belt drive

So the speculation is over, final checks being carried out on the new power unit for the M3W replacement..

They are changing Phil Bleazey's rubbers, or so the actress said.

A small displacement radial engine, say 5-9 cylinder, sure would be nice up front and probably very smooth power once started.

2019 M3W Sold and is now in Las Vegas enjoying the showgirls :-)

In the Autocar pic, does anyone think that those extended side panels could be hiding cylinders of a BMW flat-twin motorcycle engine?
