Sorry for the confusion Heinz, I do tend to ramble on a bit. 2012 but 2013Model Year C4S with PDK and the usual set of toys...Sigh..! No Sport Chrono, but then that might be a good thing..? Luvin the sheep image, there was one similar some time back with a Morgan surrounded with sheep. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/08/09/_DSC1727.jpg)

Thats a very nice Porsche, George, in a nice colour. Sport Chrono? Do one need it when enjoying the drive?

Thanks for the compliments Heinz, I guess while for some it is just another car, for me it represents years of savings, just as did my Morgan circa 20 years ago, which makes these two machines all the more special to me.
I had forgotten what it can be like to drive a Porsche, and the affect it seems to have on other road users around you, when compared to the Morgan...Hmm..?

Maybe not quite as warmly, but nowadays with more respect than before, I think.

Heinz, it may be me who is somewhat sensitised relative to the effect that I imagine a Porsche (or indeed any iconic sports car) can have on other road users..? That effect imagined or otherwise began to bug me when I gave up on a Porsche for fun motoring circa twenty five ago, and went back to m/cycles to enjoy the "B" roads hereabouts.
No more that fifteen minutes into my first drive in the C4 while on an interesting B road just cruising along circa 50mph I found an ambulance close behind, no blues and twos, just too close..! Next series of bends I held pace and the ambulance dropped well back as expected, but on the next strait he was back there again. sigh.! Round a few more bends and knowing the road and that there was a straight after the next bend, once round the bend I slowed enough to encourage the ambulance to pass which he did...and once on his merry way, I found that there was a police car tailing behind which I may have sucked out of his hiding place too, as they ever like to keep at least one or two vehicles between them and their prey when on the hunt..Hmm..?
Could all be a figment of my imagination which I hope it is, though as for "respect"... not in these parts Heinz, resentment seems more likely to be par for the course....more is the pity. I guess time will tell. Perhaps a run in the old Morgan is all I need to restore my faith in human nature as it seems to bring out quite the best in folk, whereas a Porsche seems to bring out something quite different..?

Sadly I have to agree that at times, deriving the Porsche does bring out something quite different. I only get positives in the Morgan but found that there were many times where I find a Halfords Special hot hatch, Jag F types, BMW's etc racing up to me and the expecting me to pull away fast for them to start going faster yet. I ignore this. What's worse is having someone next to me who with all due respect wouldn't be able to keep up whatsoever but once the light goes green they floor it like no tomorrow. I chalk this up to simple jealousy. But as it's a fraction of the time, I ignore it. Like you, I saved and waited quite a long time to be able to get my first P car and what a special car they are. Aside from the boy racers and those with little self-esteem, I do find I get almost. the same amount of people wanting to get a closer look and ask questions. Love the spec of your C4S. My next one might be an older 911. Something just so iconic about the design

Perry, I suspect such are the variations in human nature that there will ever be those who suffer greatly from envy and to extreme degrees at times, more is the pity. I do remember driving along the long flat strait dual carriageway just before entering Dundee many years ago, sitting at a steady 70 in my red 911, and spotting an old viva slowly creeping up on me making smoke like a RN destroyer in battle. it was bobbing along like a three legged horse as at least one if not more of it`s shockers was obviously shot, as it drew level I noted it was loaded with maw, paw and the weans, ( Scottish for Kinder Heinz) with paw looking very determined to beat the Porsche...!!! I slowed up to let him "win" , that being the only sensible thing to do..? Not much further on on entering the outskirts of city there are/ were (?) a series of consecutive roundabouts with reasonable distance between them, again it seems I picked up a tail hugger, this time a 2CV..! Well it seems a 911 can take roundabouts a tad less dramatically than a 2CV, so after the first he dropped back, but determined as he was he caught up on the straight just before the next roundabout which by the time he rounded that one behind me he was the equivalent of knee down, and close to loosing control, fortunately I was close to my destination and turned off...phew..! I have to say that the immediate predecessor of my red 911 was a black one which did not seem to attract the same degree of unfortunate attention, though at the time my daily would be my old pick up truck. and when out in the 911 I could find myself sitting waiting and waiting for some kind soul to let me out at a "T" junction, and wondering why..then remembering I was in the 911 and not the truck, the answer became all to obvious..! I guess I became hooked on Porsche on first viewing then then new film release "LeMans" at the only then also new wide screen picture hall in the city... It is all too simple to get hooked on media hype relative to Porsche, perhaps best to carry out some research, other than the huge amount of rave reviews spouting all the oft repeated verbiage from front line commentators to over enthusiastic owners who have swallowed the lot, hook line and sinker..? Air cooled Porsches are very special cars but EXPENSIVE to repair and they can corrode rather badly too. There are a whole lot of shiny looking Porsches out there with all sorts of bodge hiding below the paint. As for the water cooled variety, they can have issues too, all the way up till circa 2009 when the 997.2 version seemed to have overcome the engine issues that reportedly blighted circa 3% of Porsche production even at low mileages..? But then Morgan are not without their ...err...foibles too, just that at least in the case of Trads, they are for the most part, simpler to resolve...? utilising due dillegence and cost benefit analysis will hopefully pay dividends if you do decide to take the plunge into P ownership, though having typed that, I should read that which I type myself on occasion, not sure it was wise to buy a C4S with Greece on fire and Venice flooding as well as whatever the Covid re-set effect might be on future taxation justification... etc. etc. etc...

I guess that the Aero hit the button with me as it looks like the older car and so gets the love but still had the V8 and handling to keep me out of the ditch.
The comment re the Ambulance and the police car ? I would guess that you had just hit prison transfer or some other escorted convoy ?
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Thanks for showing interest in my rambling Alistair, and yes beyond series one, the Aero 8 is a beauty to behold, but having served my Morgan apprenticeship on the MSCC DG, eMog, Morgans at Autox and NBC, I observed Morgan being dragged into the digital age seemingly kicking and screaming, a bit like myself.. and in that respect they too seemed to have suffered digital issues they struggled to resolve, and for quite some period of time... I was working with leading edge technology at the time myself.... Thus when it came to choosing a Morgan a Trad it had to be, and one with carbs to boot.. I like your thinking Alistair, unfortunately perhaps a quarter mile after the ambulance overtook, and the police car "appeared," we three came to a "T" junction after which I followed the ambulance, and the police car went in the opposite direction.... Mind games perhaps, but not what I had hoped for into the first few miles of "new" car ownership.

George. I suspect that the driver of the ambulance felt he could go marginally faster than 50mph on the road you were on and by driving close was telling you so. I'd like to think that professional drivers such as the emergency services wouldn't let car type cloud their judgement, but I could be wrong!!!
I've spent most of my driving hours in vans, some decent but some right bangers as well!! Drive at the speed limit in a van and virtually everyone will overtake first chance they get. Drive at the same speed in a nice car and they're happy to sit behind you. It's just the way their heads work.
Whilst owning and driving a Morgan brings mostly positive comments and courteous driving it can also attract the opposite, which I can only assume is down to the green monster!!
Enjoy your lovely new Porsche, drive it how you want (within the law of course) and don't let the b's get you down.
