Did it look good in the metal Graham, sometimes these things work that way. I remember asbo had a red and black one and it looked really good a while back now. Not to my taste but that's irrelevant as it's not my car  ...

A friend had a 49 (racing Europa) replica in the Gold Leaf colours. Looked good. I went for the JPS colours on a Europa Twink though.

Those JPS cars were super smooth and quicker than a quick thing, I always go for the Gold Leaf colours as they remind me so much of the uber cool Jochen Rindt and his gorgeous wife, they were THE pit couple to watch. And those PlusSix wings are a lot redder than appear in the photos. Saw the car several times in the factory. Yes it was Graham, very in your face / Noddy's car colour. At first I though ugh but it does grow on you. I also liked the last Roadster having colour coordinated alloys. The finish on them was far better than MMCs normal silver.

As a serial 'thread-drifter' I risk a charge of hypocrisy, but .... the above cars may be 'special' .... but they're not 'Specials' ..... though have to say the Gold Leaf Lotus is definitely worthy of 'cars mostly' .... 😁
