Well it doesn't seem related to the revs so I am guessing suspension somewhere or a loose cable bouncing about inside? To me sounds like wood being h it.

Agreed it is not related to engine revs but it also doesn’t occur when I go over bumps so I assumed it wasn’t suspension related either. It seems to occur when the car changes gear so in the audio file I am slowing down on the gears and the gearbox is progressively selecting a lower gear and I think it is when the gear change occurs that I get this sound. It also occurs when I start accelerating after slowing down so it could be the drive chain taking up some slack in the system or something.

Welcome to TM Roger.
In all honesty I don’t have any clonk. I do however have a ratttle from the engine somewhere under hard acceleration. Not too concerned but just aware when I’m pushing it above 4/5000 rpm particularly that it sounds a bit like a screw is a bit loose somewhere under the bonnet….
Hope your clonk gets sorted old chap
HB I had an annoying rattle and discovered it to be the bonnet stay. Some strategically placed pieces of rubber sorted that out.

Cheers for the tip Leroy -will check it out as a possibility next time. Having tried the S+ button today for the first time I found that the additional pops on the overrun (even better than the Sports mode alone) made me chuckle too much to notice the rattle…so had to test the loud pedal hard then release repeatedly to slow down again just for fun for about 15 miles. Woop woop 😇

Genuinely no offence taken (I v rarely show her any posts apart from the odd Monday Smiles jokes)!!! My sense of humour doesn’t always work in type (apparently Her Ladyship says it doesn’t often work in person!!!!)
No objections yet as long as I don’t always insist she comes with me every time…to be fair she’s happy coz she knows my Mog makes me happy. As oft said -I’m a lucky chap…
