Hi I have a 1990 +4 4seater. It still has the original hood which is in excellent condition, I also have the original storage bag for the hood. The bag measures 65 x 50cm as yet I can't see a way of folding the hood to fit the bag without bending the clear plastic window and have therefore not used the bag. Does anyone know the secret of folding the hood and could they explain it in simple terms. Many thanks for any help

I don't think there is one. I asked on here a while back and no joy, and then took my hood to a trimmer to see if there was a magic way to fold it, but again nothing. I tend to leave it unfolded unless I'm going out and the.forecasrnis dodgy, in which case I fold it with creases in the side windows.

I wouldn't fold a top with a crease in any of the windows and would recommend getting a new, custom made bag. My local dealer makes them in vinyl. I fold the side windows in over the back window and then fold them over the roof and again to keep the whole as small as possible without bending the windows. It sounds like your bag is far too small.

I do as JCK making the final package as small as possible but I put a bath towel between the roof and the plastic windows and plastic window to window so that the windows are protected. I don't have a bag and my 42 year old roof for the 4/4 is in near perfect condition as is the nearly 30 year old +8 roof. When the roof is being used on the +8 I then use the bath towel for mopping up purposes inside the car, dual purpose!!!!

I forgot the towel! I use an old camping microfiber towel. My hood is the original 1959 one, but only used very rarely. My bag, however, is only a couple of years old.

My hood, like others who have replied, has quarter windows, so I also fold them across the main window, which remains ‘flat...... The folded hood then fits neatly on the storage space behind the seats 👌👍

I think the OP needs to know the correct way to fold a Four Seater Hood. I only have experience of a Two Seater but there must an awful lot more hood to lose with those Four Seaters, of course you have more room to stow it
